Last week I got a phone call from the Savings and Loans Credit Union, which I am an agent for telling me that they will be closing their WHOLE agency network at the end of the financial year (8 weeks away). :lying: This came as a shock as they are the source of my main income. They also haven’t allowed much time in telling us agents of the decision. After discussions with the family I decided to close my whole shop and business down at the end of May 2009. This will give me a month to tidy up accounts before the end of the financial year. My business, Encounter Coast Agency has been in Goolwa over 27 years (they were here when I was pregnant with my 27 year old son) and have been a Savings and Loans Credit Union Agent for approx. 12 years. It is a sad time but part of me is relieved as I am getting tired and was thinking of selling next year (which would have been 10 years of ownership for me). An end of an era and another nail in country town services. The local travel agent closed in March in Goolwa.
Well this month sure rolled around fast. The 12 of 12 this month ended up being on Easter Sunday. We were away camping at Mootatunga for Easter and went into Loxton on Easter Sunday for a counter-meal and to do some geocaching.
You can find my complete 12 pics at April 12of12 flickr set
We had a good day, found 10 geocaches and had a lovely lunch at the Loxton Club.
I have been participating in a little project where you take 12 photos on the 12th day of the month showing your day. It is a small snapshot into what happens around you that day.
Here is my day on the 12th March 2009. Click on the graphic to see the 12 pics in details.
