Had a bit of excitement with a van fire on Bongalong Road, Hindmarsh Island the other day. A report of a van and grass fire. We hopped in our car and went the 2 roads over to have a look.
Yep it was on fire but luckily was parked in the middle of the road and the grass hadn’t caught fire.
The CFS (Country Fire Service) trucks arrived after about 15 minutes – which is excellent time for out here. It takes me 14 minutes to get to work so for them to have a truck here in that time was very quick. Goolwa 34, Goolwa 24 and Currency Creek 24 responded
It was put out without the grass paddocks catching fire. This is the second vehicle fire on Hindmarsh Island in 2 weeks.
